I need something strong that I can build new hope upon. Ain’t it a lonely feeling, talking about my and me instead of we and free? So many voices shouting, so much noise. Hear the contradictions fly. Telling you to lose your individuality. Don’t spend a lot of time thinking about these things. We don’t want to be like them.
Words can never break your bones. All doubts were someone else’s point of view. You’re enough to get you out of this place. Not falling – rising. Change faster.
Ordinary, no. You’re one of a kind. It’s just you’re listening slow. They don’t shine brighter than you are. Sit back down where you belong.
Here we are on earth together. All of the people, with nothing to do and nothing to prove. We need each other. So much to discover. Let’s live like we used to, leave what you’ve been through. We’ll be alright.
There’s a blue lake, deep below our mistakes. Reach for something greater, no matter now or later. Anything you want is yours now. Make something that no one else has. Load the car and write the note. Take the trip down south. For what? For freedom.
Me and God got talking to do. You have given hope where hope is hard to find. Even when the night is cold, I got that fire in my soul. This time I’m not leaving without you.
I prefer the instrumental hymns. Me and God don’t need a middle man. Out of all the places I could choose, I go to you. Nobody’s going to love me like you. You love all of me. You were proud of me that day. You’ve made the best of this life.
Me and God have been singing again. I hear the beat, my melody. In the sun of Sunday morning or the pouring rain. It’s for you. I will ride for you.
If it ever came down to just me and God,
it’s ok.
I’m okay.
Wherever the wind might blow,
wherever that river rolls.
